What a great find! I am the great grand daughter of Gottlieb & Katherine Gessel. My mother is Clara Lue Gene Tibbitts Holt, she is the daughter of Clara Eliza Gessel Tibbitts. My mom was born in Rigby, Idaho, as was her sister, Joycelyn Tibbitts Moore, now living in St. George. Of Eliza's (Liz) ten children only my mom & Aunt Joycelyn were born in Rigby, all the other children were born in Providence. Living in the East as I have all my live, except for 18 months (I was born in SLC), I'm starving for family history information. I hope to start my own blog--of course, nothing as professional and thorough as this one, but I have many stories to tell and so many questions. Thanks for listening. I am thrilled to connect with you. My grandmother's father was Alonzo Nelson who was the son of Mary Ann Gillet who married Nels hans Nelson. Mary Ann Gillet was the daughter of Mary Butterly and Joshua Hague Gillett.
I have recently started a blog working on getting the stories of my ancestors out there. With your permission, could I share these stories?
I am planning a trip tp Nova Scotia this summer to do some family history on my dad's side and was totally shocked to discover that there are Gillet's who went there (specifically Joshua Hague's great grandfather- this seems strange) Do you have any info on this? I will plan on going to where they settled and see what I can discover.
